Interests:
Several including gardening and allotmenting (of course) (but tend to be shy of the hard work); losing weight to a target with a payment to charity to the extent that I fail (but I broke the scales when measuring after the first week and my weight went up over Christmas); caring for family and friends (when dressed as Father Christmas one of my granddaughters told me that I had a big nose like her grandfather!). I could go on (but you will be asleep very quickly).

Had a fix of local government after strolling into County Hall in London. Followed this with a stint of teaching in higher education. Had a propensity to write and edit so I now freelance with handbooks on property ( EG Property Handbook and EG Council Tax Handbook). The IRRV have recently published Common Lands Handbook. Am now preparing handbooks on 1 infrastructure; 2 environmental taxation; and 3 green infrastructure. Work in progress is on the last three (and about 10 other titles).
As a hobby (sad!) I am looking at services, revenues and taxation. The Valuation Tribunal Service kindly published a series of four or five articles looking a these topics from prehistory to the reign of Alfred the Great
