I find that we in the UK try hard but we are always up against the obstacle of being not fully integrated with Europe. Firstly the Pound is always an obstacle always varying with the Euro and preventing long term objectives and planning from being formed and implemented. Secondly we are not integrated into their R&D with always trying to do our own thing and not co-operating closely with European businesses and research establishments particularly at a grower level. Thirdly we are an isolated island and are to fiercely independent , the knowledge path is not connected well with Europe, with few at all levels in the UK industry speaking the European lingo.

Excellent statement, the sooner we get our hearts and minds integrated into Europe the better it will be for everybody. We need to go over to the Euro currency system without any more delay?
